Yan-Wu Wang

Speech title: Cooperative Control of Interconnected Two-time-scale Systems

Yan-Wu Wang received the B.S. degree in automatic control, the M.S. degree and the Ph.D. degree in control theory and control engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), Wuhan, China, in 1997, 2000, and 2003, respectively. She has been a Professor with the School of Artificial Intelligence and Automation, HUST, since 2009. Her research interests include hybrid systems, cooperative control, and multi-agent systems with applications in smart grid. Currently she serves in the editor boards of several journals, including IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid, IEEE Power Engineering Letters, Journal of Control and Decision, ISA Transactions, Journal of the Franklin Institute, and Neurocomputing. Dr. Wang was a recipient of several awards, including the first prize of Natural Science Award of Hubei Province in 2014, the first prize of Natural Science Award of the Ministry of Education of China in 2005, and the Excellent PhD Dissertation of Hubei Province in 2004, China. In 2008, she was awarded the title of "New Century Excellent Talents" by the Ministry of Education of China.

Ning Sun

Speech title: Dynamics and Advanced Control of Pneumatic Artificial Muscle Robot Systems

Ning Sun received the B.S. degree in measurement & control technology and instruments from Wuhan University, Wuhan, China, in 2009, and the Ph.D. degree in control theory and control engineering from Nankai University, Tianjin, China, in 2014. He is currently an IEEE Senior Member.

He is currently a Full Professor with the Institute of Robotics and Automatic Information Systems, Nankai University, Tianjin, China. He was awarded the prestigious Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Postdoctoral Fellowship for Research in Japan (Standard). His research interests include intelligent control for mechatronic/robotic systems with emphasis on (industrial) applications.

Dr. Sun received the Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Excellent Youth Award in 2019, the China 10 Scientific and Technological Developments in Intelligent Manufacturing (2nd achiever) in 2019, the First Class Prize of Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Natural Science Award in 2017, the First Class Prize of Tianjin Natural Science Award in 2018, the Golden Patent Award of Tianjin in 2017, the IJCAS (International Journal of Control, Automation, and Systems) Academic Activity Award in 2018 and 2019, the Outstanding Ph.D. Dissertation Award from the Chinese Association of Automation (CAA) in 2016, etc.

He serves as an Associate Editor (editorial board member) for several journals, including IEEE Access, Frontiers in Neurorobotics, International Journal of Control, Automation, and Systems, IET Cyber-Systems & Robotics, Transactions of the Institute of Measurement and Control, International Journal of Precision Engineering and Manufacturing, etc. Prof. Sun has been an Associate Editor of the IEEE Control Systems Society (CSS) Conference Editorial Board (including ACC, IEEE CDC) since July 2019, and he is/was an Associate Editor for IEEE ICRA and IEEE/RSJ IROS.

Speech title: Fault Detection and Fault Tolerant Control of Complicated Dynamic Systems with Spacecraft Applications

Ming Liu was born in Jilin Province, China, in 1981. He received a B.S. degree in Information and Computing Science in 2003, and a M.S. degree in Operational Research and Cybernetics in 2006, respectively, from the Northeastern University, Liaoning, China. He received a Ph.D. degree in Mathematics from the City University of Hong Kong in 2009. He joined Harbin Institute of Technology in 2010, where he is currently a Professor. His research interests include networked control systems, fault detection and fault tolerant control, and spacecraft design and control. Dr. Ming Liu was selected as the ‘‘New Century Excellent Talents in University’’ of the Ministry of Education of China in 2013 and the “Top-Notch Young Talents of Ten-Thousands Talents Program” in 2018.

Sheng-Quan Li

Speech title: Extended-State-Observer-Based Control with Applications to Smart Structures in Presence of Disturbances

Shengquan Li (Senior Member, IEEE) was born in Changde, China, in 1982. He received the Ph.D. degree in Mechatronics from the Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Nanjing, China, in 2012. From September 2014 to March 2015, he was a research assistant with the Department of Automatic Control and Systems Engineering, The University of Sheffield, the United Kingdom. Since 2012, he has been with Yangzhou University, China, where he is currently a Professor and a Doctoral Supervisor. His research interests include extended-state-observer-based control, sliding mode control and fractional order control methods with application in smart structures, PMSM, DC-DC converter etc. Dr. Li has served on the technical program committee for several international journal and conferences, including Measurement and Control, IEEE CYBER 2018, etc. Dr. Li was a recipient of several awards, including Best Presentation Award of ICANDVC2021, etc.

Yulong Wang

Speech title: Formation Control of Unmanned Marine Vehicles

Yulong Wang received the B.S. degree in Computer Science and Technology from Liaocheng University, Liaocheng, China, in 2000, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Control Science and Engineering from Northeastern University, Shenyang, China, in 2006 and 2008, respectively. He was a Post-doctoral Research Fellow and a Research Fellow with Central Queensland University, North Rockhampton, QLD, Australia, an Academic Visitor with the University of Adelaide, Adelaide, SA, Australia, and a Professor with Jiangsu University of Science and Technology, Zhenjiang, Jiangsu, China. In 2017, he was appointed as an Eastern Scholar by the Municipal Commission of Education, Shanghai, China, and joined Shanghai University, Shanghai, China, where he is currently a professor. His current research interests include networked control systems, deep reinforcement learning, and the motion control for marine vehicles.

Hesheng Wang

Dr. Hesheng Wang received the B.Eng. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Harbin Institute of Technology. Harbin, China, in 2002, the M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees in Automation & Computer-Aided Engineering from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, in 2004 and 2007, respectively. From 2007 to 2009, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow and Research Assistant in the Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He joined Shanghai Jiao Tong University as an Associate Professor in 2009. Currently, he is a Professor of Department of Automation, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China. He worked as a visiting professor at University of Zurich in Switzerland. His research interests include visual servoing, service robot, robot control and computer vision.
Prof. Wang has published more than 100 papers in refereed professional journals and international conference proceedings. He has received a number of best paper awards from major international conferences in robotics and automation. Dr. Wang is an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Automation Science and Engineering, IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters, Assembly Automation, IET Cyber-systems and Robotics, the International Journal of Humanoid Robotics, a Technical Editor of the IEEE/ASME TRANSACTIONS ON MECHATRONICS, an Editorial Advisory Board in Advanced Intelligent Systems. He served as an Associate Editor of the IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON ROBOTICS from 2015 to 2019. He was a guest editor of Mathematical Problems in Engineering, Journal of Applied Mathematics and International Journal of Advanced Robotic Systems. He serves as The Technical Activities Board Member of IEEE Robotics and Automation Society. He served as associate editor in Conference Editorial Board of IEEE Robotics and Automation Society since 2011. Prof. Wang is actively involving in organization of international conferences. He served as organizing committee member for many international conferences such as ICRA and IROS. He was the program chair of the 2014 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Biomimetics, the program chair of the 2019 IEEE/ASME International Conference on Advanced Intelligent Mechatronics, and the general chair of the 2016 IEEE International Conference on Real-time Computing and Robotics. He is the general chair of the 2022 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Biomimetics. He was a recipient of Shanghai Rising Star Award in 2014, The National Science Fund for Outstanding Young Scholars in 2017 and Shanghai Shuguang Scholar in 2019. He is a Senior Member of IEEE.

Zhijun Zhang

Zhijun Zhang (Senior Member, IEEE) received the Ph.D. degree from Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou, China, in 2012. From 2013 to 2015, he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the Institute for Media Innovation, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. From 2015 to 2019, he was an Associate Professor, and since 2020, he has been a Full Professor with the School of Automation Science and Engineering, South China University of Technology, Guangzhou, China. He has authored or coauthored more than 80 research papers on the IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems, IEEE Transactions on Mechtronics, IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics, and top international conferences. His current research interests include neural networks, robotics, machine learning, and interaction. He was the recipient of Guangdong Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, and Youth Talents in Science and Technology Innovation of Guangdong Special Support Plan. He is currently a Member of Committee on Visual Cognition and Computation of Chinese Society of Image Graphics, and a Member of Hybrid Intelligence Professional Committee of Chinese Association of Automation. He is currently the Executive Editor-in-Chief of Global Journal of Neuroscience, an Associate Editor for the International Journal of Robotics and Control, the Review Editor of the Frontiers in Robotics and AI, and a Reviewer of more than 20 international journals.
